Recycling collection is provided to customers that reside within the city limits of Vallejo and in the Solano county area surrounding Vallejo.
RECYCLING
We can all pitch in to help reduce, reuse, and recycle as much as possible. Recology Vallejo provides a convenient curbside recycling collection program to residential customers.
What to Recycle
Below is a list of what you can recycle in your blue recycling cart. You can also use www.WhatBin.com to search for specific items.
- Food and beverage cans (aluminum, steel, and tin)
- Clean aluminum pans
- Aluminum foil
- Empty aerosol cans
- Loose lids from jars
Unaccepted Materials: coat hangers, scrap metal, fuel tanks or propane tanks
- Glass bottles (from juice, soda, wine and liquor – clear, green and brown – CRV and non-CRV)
- Glass jars (from spaghetti sauce, applesauce, and other food items)
Unaccepted Materials: mirrors, light bulbs, ceramic, window panes, dishware, drinking glasses/mugs, and vases
- All #1 – #7 narrow-neck plastic bottles and jugs (water, soda, juice, milk, or other household products)
- All California Redemption Value (CRV)
- All colors
- All non-bottle plastic (toys, trays, plastic tubs from margarine, butter or yogurt)
Unaccepted Materials: plastic bags, garden hoses, Styrofoam, PVC or other piping
- Junk mail, envelopes
- Newspapers (including inserts)
- Office paper
- Magazines (includes glossy publications)
- Chipboard (boxes from cereal, shoes, crackers or gifts)
- Brown paper bags
- Paperboard egg cartons (not Styrofoam)
- Corrugated cardboard (cardboard with ridges – please flatten boxes)
- Shredded paper (please place in paper bag)
- Clean pizza boxes
- Soft cover, paperback and phone books
- Cartons (rinsed milk and juice cartons)
Unaccepted Materials: Hardback books, carbon paper, photographs, facial or toilet tissues, plastic or foil lining from cereal or cracker boxes, paper contaminated by food, and thermal fax paper
