BULKY ITEM PICKUP
If you have large or bulky items that you need to dispose of, you may first consider if your items, such as sofas and tables, could be reused by others. There is always a great need to support the non-profits in Solano County, not only will you be helping divert items from the landfill – you will also be helping a great organization.
If donating your items is not possible, the Residential Cleanup Program is a service provided to Vallejo and unincorporated Solano County residents to assist in the disposal of large and bulky items that don’t fit in curbside waste bins.
Residents may schedule two free curbside pickups each calendar year. If you exceed your number of free pickups, you may request additional collections for a fee. A bulky item pickup is equivalent to 2 cubic yards of material (10 – 33 gal bags of material).

How much is 2 cubic yards?
Two cubic yards are easy to measure. Two cubic yards equal ten 32-gallon plastic bags. Your stacked trash should not be larger than one yard (or three feet) wide, by one yard (or three feet) high, and two yards (or six feet) long. Stack your trash and then measure to make sure you do not exceed the two-yard limit.
If you have questions, call Recology Vallejo at 552-3110. Two cubic yards equal about four gray trash carts, ten 32-gallon trash cans, or ten 32-gallon trash bags.
